Breakfast was generous and fresh, and both a relaxed morning coffee and an evening meal added to the stay. The staff were professional, attentive and genuinely friendly, ready to help while giving you privacy. Skagen Bryggen is right by Stavanger's waterfront, where the historic character sits alongside modern comfort. The rooms were clean, inviting and thoughtfully prepared, and made me want to stay longer. From arrival, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Whether you're here for business, a weekend away or to explore the area, it feels like home and makes a great base for Stavanger. Congratulations to the management for keeping the standard up with such care and dedication. If you've made it to Stavanger, you deserve a stay at Skagen Bryggen.
Breakfast and dinner were both nice, and sitting on the hotel's front porch in the evening was lovely. The hotel is within walking distance of many great museums and local places. But be aware that a sea/garden room means one view or the other, not both. I booked that type and was put in a room at the back, away from the water, with what they called a garden view. The attached picture showed an abandoned lot with crowd fencing, where many drunk people from the nearby bar gathered and used the space as a restroom. Staff said the hotel was fully booked and gave me no option besides cancelling the stay.
The rooms are a little small, though when you're in Stavanger you shouldn't be staying in the hotel much anyway. They were clean and had toiletries available, along with an iron, hairdryer, electric kettle and TV. I was there for 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel was cosy, quiet and nice, and the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English very well. The food was fresh and yummy, though the weekday menu is fixed and posted by the restaurant door, with only a few full meals to choose from each day. Still, everyone should find something for themselves. A very nice hotel :)
The location was lovely, and I'd stay again. I had a comfortable room overlooking the quay, where ships sometimes moored. Wi-Fi at 20Mbps was fine, and both the breakfast buffet and evening 'supper' were lovely. A few things could be better: housekeeping isn't provided during your stay unless requested, the shower pump bottles were only half full and hard to use, and the safe wasn't secured to its base, so I didn't trust it. At times, the room door wouldn't lock properly after I left; desk staff said it was because the doors were new. The front desk staff also seemed unsure about details, including when the road would close for the cycle race and where taxis would need to pick up. I stayed a few nights late last month and had a nice experience.
The included breakfast, afternoon 'fika' with coffee and cake, and evening meal were a good value, especially for anyone on a budget. Staff were friendly and hospitable, and the modern, comfortable rooms had a stylish feel. Some rooms may be on the small side for a longer visit, and parking is limited at the hotel, so off-site parking may be needed, especially during peak season. The waterfront location is a major plus, with harbor views and easy access to the city center and top attractions. Clarion Collection Hotel Skagen Brygge is a convenient, stylish option in Stavanger and good value for money.
