Quality Hotel Richard With

The hotel has a good location and nice views, and there’s a pub and museum in the buildings next door. It’s stylish and comfortable, and really lives up to the “quality” in its name. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. There’s parking with EV chargers, though it’s usually almost full. Can recommend it 100%.

The northern scenery looks incredible through the huge windows, and the rooms have wonderful beds. I loved the designer lighting, from the different lamp styles to settings for sunrise, midday, or sunset. You can control it with an easy to understand switch by the entrance or the bed. The bathroom lighting has the same options, so you can have a rainforest shower with sunrise light. The interiors are designer and eco friendly. There’s a sauna and a place to dip in the North Sea 50 meters from the hotel. The restaurant serves premium food, including northern Norwegian specialities and amazing fish. The burgers are very good too. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

We had potato and leek soup at the restaurant, and it was fantastic. They included a generous serving of delicious gluten free bread. The hotel has a great atmosphere, and our room had a lovely view. It was clean, well lit, with a nice bathroom and a comfortable, cozy bed. I’ll stay again.

The hotel itself is very clean, modern, upscale, and nice all around. The other representatives we dealt with were friendly and helpful, though one interaction was off-putting. I have Choice Privileges Platinum membership, which has always been acknowledged at every Strawberry hotel we’ve stayed at, but this hotel didn’t acknowledge it. When I asked, they said no suites were available and gave us a room overlooking a grocery store. I asked about a room facing the water. The representative seemed put off, checked with a colleague, then said another room was available but wasn’t clean yet, so I’d have to wait. That was fine. She also said she’d written a greeting card but hadn’t had time to put it in the room, so she handed it to me. It wasn’t a big deal, just odd. While waiting, I saw three suites available to book online, so I don’t know why I was told there were none. I’d have preferred them to say the hotel didn’t participate in the program. Another issue is that the sauna is listed as an amenity, but it’s a separate business and costs extra. I expected to use it, and think it should be listed as a nearby attraction instead. All in all, though, it was a nice stay.
