Svinoya Rorbuer

I’ve been to Svinøya Rorbuer in both winter and summer, and every visit has been amazing. Seeing orcas swimming right around the cabins is one memory I won’t forget. The Northern Lights in winter and the midnight sun in summer each made their own kind of magic. As a solo traveler, I always feel at home thanks to the warm, welcoming staff. Breakfast is fresh and generous, and Børsen Restaurant does delicious local food, especially seafood. The peaceful setting, natural beauty, and food make this a special place. I can’t recommend it enough.

I’d happily stay here again in a heartbeat. The apartment in the Telegraph building was spotless and well maintained, and the staff were helpful, especially when my rental car died. It had a lovely vintage look mixed seamlessly with modern features. The bed was comfortable, with a nice view from both sides of the apartment, and there was even a deck just outside the window that I hadn’t expected.

It’s a unique place with good value and a nice mix of traditional charm and modern comforts. Still, a few things knocked a star off for me: the parking was odd, the kitchen was missing basics like tongs, a microwave, a toaster, and oil, there were no shower shelves, and we had to take out the trash and strip the linens.

The interior was spacious and modern, while the outside kept that rustic cabin look. It’s in a great spot by the harbour, on its own island. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could’ve stayed longer.
