Quality Hotel Grand Tromso

The location is excellent, and breakfast had a good spread, but I found this one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The rooms feel badly dated, from the old, yellowed light switches to the small, fully tiled bathroom that looks tired. The heater didn't work properly, and the room had poor air circulation. WiFi in the room was practically nonexistent. There are no kettles in the rooms, and coffee in the lobby now costs extra, though it used to be complimentary. The hotel badly needs refurbishment, and possibly new management.

I stayed here at the end of November while looking for the Aurora Borealis, and the location made it easy to visit lots of interesting places around Tromsø. The hotel is accessible too, and you can check the official website for prices and availability. Our room wasn't very spacious, as is typical of a European hotel, but it was comfortable enough and fit both of our large suitcases. I shared it with a dear friend. The bed was comfortable, with plenty of pillows and a good blanket. Bathroom amenities were provided, the hot water worked well, and the heater was good. Breakfast was nice and typical for a European hotel. I usually went for eggs and toast since I like a hot breakfast. Not everything is halal, so ask the staff to check. They also had salmon, which I love.

Breakfast was included, delicious, and had plenty of choices. The hotel is right on the popular strip, within walking distance of restaurants and very close to the port. The bus stop for airport service is nearby too. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a large, very clean bathroom. The bed was SO COMFORTABLE, and I was really happy with the quality. Check-in was easy. The recent name change caused some confusion with our reservation, but we worked it out. A great stay, thank you!

That breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've ever had: delicious, plentiful, and clearly labeled for dairy-free, vegan, and non-red-meat options. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating too. Our room was exceptionally clean, every space spotless, rug included, and the view was beautiful. The room was in downtown Tromsø, and the whole place felt cozy once we figured out how to turn on the heat. The heaters were behind the curtains, so it took us a while. It would help if the front desk explained that at check-in. A wonderful welcome to Tromsø, and one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Thank you!
