Quality Hotel Saga

We found the hotel ideal for our four-night stay. The front desk staff were welcoming, and the breakfast team and cleaners were kind. There was also luggage storage. The location is right in the heart of Tromsø, near bus stops, boats, excursion pick-up points, and the Cathedral across the road. Our room was clean and comfortable. There wasn't a lamp on my side of the bed, though it looked like one had been there before and needed replacing. Water drained slowly in both the sink and shower and would build up, so we paused the shower now and then to keep it from overflowing. Breakfast offered an excellent choice in a clean restaurant, and the smoothies were delicious. The eggs were sometimes lukewarm, perhaps they needed a cover. Thank you!

Breakfast was the highlight: a good range of food, excellent quality, and the staff there shared local tips that helped us adjust our plans for the better. The reception team were also very helpful throughout. We were a family of six, including grandparents, on our first visit to Tromso, staying four nights in two rooms. The central location came in handy the whole trip. Room service was minimal, as we'd been told at check-in. We had to ask reception for cleaning before they closed for the day, and it would be done the following morning. It seemed odd at first, but we got used to it. The rooms were clean and a reasonable size, as expected. It was a little expensive, but you get what you pay for, and I felt it was good value for money.

The common area is beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It's in the city center, close to the port. There's no gym at the hotel, but they have an arrangement with one down the road; it costs $10 per workout. Aside from that, I was very happy with the stay.

We loved the tasty breakfast each morning, and it was nice to return after a day out to a warm cup of tea in the lounge, available for guests to help themselves to anytime. The beds were comfortable, the shower was lovely, and the heated floor was a nice extra. It's a lovely hotel in an amazing location. Our Booking.com reservation said we'd have one large double bed, a sofa bed, and a kettle. Instead, we got two single beds pushed together, with no sofa bed or kettle. Staff said they couldn't do anything or upgrade us, so be aware there may be a difference between what Booking.com lists and what you get. We arrived on Saturday night and barely slept because of street and nightlife noise until around 4am. Friday and Saturday nights are probably loud.
