Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromso

I hadn't planned to visit Tromso, but my flight to Longyearbyen was canceled, so I ended up having to stay in Tromso for three days. It never rains but it pours: there were no vacancies anywhere, and we had to book this rather expensive hotel, 'Raddison Blue Hotel'. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The hotel was very nice, and breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of eggs and delicious bacon, sausage, and ham. There was more good news from my airline too: they said they would cover every cost for this lovely stay. P.S. The coffee machine in my room was broken, so I gave it four stars. Still, everything was okay apart from that little issue.

The Northern Lights from the hotel were one of the highlights, absolutely amazing. I enjoyed staying here: my room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice sea view, and the location was great. The airport express bus stops right outside. The room was cold on two days, so I contacted staff and they brought me a heater that worked very well. The only downside is the price, it's quite expensive.

The location is actually amazing, and breakfast is nice. But housekeeping is way below par. They don't really clean the rooms daily, just make the bed and that's it. They need to improve it.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the best I've had on all my travels. Easily 10 stars just for breakfast! My room was spotless, with an amazing harbor view, and getting to the hotel was convenient: the airport express drops off and picks up right out front. It's also ideally placed near the city centre and major attractions. I've stayed at Radisson properties many times, and this was another great experience. The downside was that neither early check-in nor late check-out was available, though both are supposed to come with the Radisson Premium rewards program. Better communication between housekeeping and management could help, and improved room management might make those options possible.
