The room just wouldn't cool down, even with the window open, so I had to take off a star. Still, the view over the port was lovely, with oyster catchers nesting on the roof. Really special. The service was excellent, and I'd definitely go for the fixed dinner menu. Breakfast was the usual Norwegian style, only better quality than at most hotels I've tried.

Great value for money, with lovely breakfast, great food, and excellent service. The location is good too, and there's a SPAR Super market nearby.

We had a delicious dinner during our Thursday-to-Sunday stay, with fresh fish dishes that looked lovely and tasted great, plus a couple of local beers. The restaurant was closed for the weekend, which was disappointing. We didn't have room for dessert, though! Our first-floor room looked out over the harbor, a special sight. Check-in was quick, and the lobby felt cozy, with lots of seating and a warm fireplace. The room itself was comfortable, with a good bed, desk, small seating area, kettle, and several tea bags. I would've liked coffee in the room. The bathroom had limited amenities and could use an upgrade, though we understand renovations are planned. Breakfast came with harbor views and plenty of choices. The coffee machine took some getting used to, but it became a fun morning ritual. Vardø was easy to get around on foot from this fantastic location. A lovely stay, and I'd come back if I'm in Vardø again.
