The rooms could use a refresh, but our second stay at Park Hotel in Voss was still a real treat. It’s in a great spot by the lake, right in town, and the service, food, and wine are what make this place special. We had a thoughtful three-course dinner and tried ten wines, each paired and presented with care. The food was even better than two years ago, and the chef’s creativity stood up to the wine list. The selection by the glass is especially impressive, and the cellar is a big part of why we came. One of the twin sommeliers hosted us, and our Polish waiter looked after us so well. A few modest room updates could lift the stay without losing the hotel’s charm. Wishing the team continued success.

The location was great, and the parking lot was huge and free. The rooms, though, were tiny and dirty, and there was a dirty smell in both the lobby and the stairwell. The hotel bar and restaurant were closed.

The location was good, and breakfast was fine while there was food, but empty dishes weren’t replenished. The rooms felt dated, the bathroom drained poorly, and there was no body soap. Help from reception was inconsistent.

Wine turned out to be the best part of our short time in Voss. We came in on a friend’s recommendation without knowing much about the place, and found a broad, really good by-the-glass selection. The restaurant manager took us around the cellar and explained its history. He knew a lot, and we had a great conversation about wine.

We came for lunch on a cruise excursion and got a warm welcome with drum beats! The staff were lovely, and Julia even arranged a birthday cake for my toddler. Thanks to Julia and the team for hosting us 😊
