Peak Apartments

The location was convenient for getting into the city, with a bus stop under five minutes away. Going back from town was less straightforward: walking took about 30 minutes, while the bus meant around ten minutes on foot to reach it and another ten-minute walk after getting off. The apartment is beside or near the train tracks, so trains can be heard. There are lots of stairs inside and between the road and the unit, with no handrail, and every bedroom is up a flight. A loose gravel section on the way from the road could also be hard with heavy luggage or limited mobility. We stayed three nights and had a terrible experience. The apartment was filthy. There were stains and mold on the walls, hair on the beds, and used soap bottles on the toilet floor. The toilet seats had yellowish marks, and the cups and cutlery were stained. The bed was broken. The extra pillows in the wardrobe had yellow stains, and the beds and pillows felt grimy. I didn’t dare check inside the pillowcases on the beds. The towels, which should have been white, were grey and patchy, so we couldn’t use them. The washing machine was very dirty and moldy, like it had been picked up from the trash. There were only three teaspoons for the whole large apartment. The rooms smelled stale, as if they hadn’t been aired for a long time. At night, heavy stomping from the people above kept us awake, sometimes around midnight or 1 a.m. Their dog or dogs barked early every morning and woke us around 6 or 7. I’ve included photos for reference. Some people may find these issues acceptable, but I didn’t. Book only if you’re comfortable with all of this.
