Scandic Voss

The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and well equipped, and the hotel’s gym and sauna were clean. We didn’t have time to use them, but the gym has an amazing view. It’s also easy to reach from the train from Oslo, with a red carpet greeting us on arrival. The gondola is close too, at the train station, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a nice restaurant as well.

Our first family room was much too small for three people, more suitable for two, but thankfully we were upgraded to a larger suite. That worked much better, though its windows were slanted rather than straight and a bit inconvenient. The reception area was spacious and fantastic, with snacks and coffee available around the clock. The welcoming atmosphere made us feel safe, and the staff were kind and helpful. The location was amazing, right by the train and the gondola.

The room was clean and modern, with a breathtaking mountain view facing the gondola and train station. It was a pleasant stay, and the location right off the train platform is hard to beat since there’s no need to go out to the street. One train pulling in at night could be a little distracting, but it was generally beautiful and quiet.

The hotel is in a convenient location, though it may not work well for group tours. There’s no proper drop-off or pick-up point, and the nearest one is quite a distance away. Signage is poor, and the front desk is on the second floor. I wouldn’t recommend it for groups with seniors who have trouble walking, though it should be fine for others.
