Royal Park Hotel

I've been here twice, and both visits left me disappointed with the hospitality. Staff seemed unprofessional, showed little care for guest comfort, and lacked basic courtesy and communication. The service fell short of what I'd expect.

I do recommend this hotel for a Chitwan visit. It's an old-style place very close to the national park gate, with a lovely garden and little houses spread around the grounds. The manager is a nice man who keeps track of guests and their plans, strolls around calmly, and keeps people informed. The staff are very friendly and look after your needs. Rooms are standard, but a good bed and clean sheets are enough for me. The town-center setting does mean noise and fumes. Food could be better too, it tastes a little bland, as if they're adapting too much to Western European cooking. That's unnecessary, tourists don't come to Nepal for a Nepali idea of Western food. Try the long day canoe trip and jungle walk, they're worth it.

Worst hotel I've ever been to. The staff were rude and impolite, and there was no service at all. They were all bikau in masu vat.

We arrived at the resort a bit late, and our jeep safari couldn't go inside the park, so we were upset. The guide chose another place to go. He could tell nobody in the jeep was happy and tried hard to make things better for the clients. Luckily, we saw a rhino, and I could see the guide was the happiest person there. Back at the resort, the manager refunded the money after deducting the ticket cost. Thank you for being loyal to your customer.
