The staff really make The Nanee special: they were warm, professional, and always smiling. We enjoyed dinner together at the long communal table, and the curated tours were handled expertly. Our room had plenty of room for trekking luggage, a lovely bathtub, and a terrace looking out over the local community well and the resilient historic architecture. Coming through the candlelit hallway into the central atrium felt like entering a sanctuary. More than a hotel, it was an experience.

I took my mom and aunt to dinner, and they were both really satisfied. The Newari food fusion was delightful to see and taste. We had a very good experience, and the food was so good.

The pumpkin soup was rich and well balanced, and came with fresh homemade bread. We also liked the Nanee style noodle soup with mushrooms on top. The chef and kitchen team put together meals that were beautifully presented, clean, and delicious. It’s a peaceful, lovely restaurant with a unique atmosphere and plenty beyond just high quality food. Akash, Manjila, and Mr jack were all personable and sweet, and seemed to really enjoy serving guests. We recommend coming to experience it for yourself. Tell them you heard about it from Rockstar and Echo.

We visited during Dashain Festival, when many Nepali people head home, a bit like our Christmas. That made the warmth and hospitality from the Nanee team feel especially heartfelt. The staff were delightful and anticipated needs we hadn’t even thought of, including the Manager taking us on a personal dawn tour of the Square. The rooms, food, design, and location were just as exceptional as the people. The Nanee was a stunning experience. Get there, people!

The staff were very courteous, the rooms comfortable, and the food excellent. Staying at The Nanee has an old-world feel, as if you’ve stepped back in time. Just outside, you’re surrounded by centuries of history and heritage. It’s a lovely mix of historic charm and modern comfort, highly recommended.
