A good choice for families, set away from the crowds in the city.

I’ve been staying at Hotel Avenue whenever I travel to Nepal for the past three years. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the food is very good, and the staff are kind and helpful. Karina Shrestha is especially sweet. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The noise was constant, day and night. I could hear traffic, generators, and people in other rooms, and the windows did nothing to help. There was no ventilation, so the room felt like a hot, airless box. The place was filthy, outdated, and smelled bad, with no comfort, peace, or privacy. The owner and manager came across as clueless, arrogant, and overbearing. They interfered constantly and stared at guests in a way that felt suspicious and creepy. I found their hospitality lacking. Hotel Avenue, Butwal was the worst hotel stay I’ve had. It calls itself a business hotel, but it felt like a poorly managed, noisy dump, not even up to a basic homestay. It seemed the owners wanted to take every rupee without making an effort to provide a decent stay. Don’t waste your money here. There are much better hotels in Butwal. This place needs serious restructuring or to be shut down. Avoid it.
