Hotel Sarathi

The indoor and outdoor games, including table tennis, are well set up. Room service and meals were managed very well during our DRR residential training and workshop. Hotel Sarathi is a modern, well-equipped venue for training seminars and meetings.

We came to Hotel Sarathi for dinner a few times while staying next door at Dhulikhel Village Resort, and the broader, clearer mountain view here made it a relaxing place to eat. The Momo platter was our favorite, good enough that we ordered it twice over three dinners. We also liked the spaghetti, and the brownie with ice cream was rich and satisfying, one of the better desserts we had in Nepal. Coffee, including latte, cappuccino, and americano, was consistently good. Some dishes were less successful. The mutton chop, mutton biryani, and local chicken curry had dry, tough meat, and the chop portion was small. The Chicken Masala Burger was average too, with a dry patty and little masala flavor. On the better side, the pork chop, Nasi Goreng, and biryani itself were tasty. Not every plate worked, but the highlights, coffee, and view make it a worthwhile Dhulikhel dining spot.

When I got sick around midnight, I called reception for basic medicine. The staff answered rudely and said they had no medical kit. I had paid 12,000 for a Premium Deluxe room, but what I was given looked like a basic standard room and was nothing like the one shown when booking, with the promised amenities missing. The service was unacceptable for that price, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The setting is peaceful despite being close to the main road, and the mountain views are beautiful. I found the outdoor seating especially nice for relaxing. The rooms were clean and looked after, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming, the food was tasty and reasonably priced, and it was good value for money. I'd happily recommend Hotel Sarathi in Dhulikhel.
