Mirabel Resort sits among the natural scenery of Dhulikhel, about 30 km east of Kathmandu on Araniko Raj Marg, the Kathmandu-Kodari Highway. The drive takes about an hour and goes past the traditional, cultural towns of Bhaktapur and Banepa. The resort is described as family-friendly, with comfortable accommodation, multi-cuisine dining, a full facility seminar hall, parking, and green grounds. Couples particularly like the location, while families appreciate the environment and service. It offers mountain views, a relaxed atmosphere, and access to nearby attractions. Lover's Point is a five-minute walk away, while Chandeswari Temple in Banepa is 4.6 kilometers away and KavreBhanjyang is 7.5 kilometers away. Rooms are spacious and non-smoking, with modern décor, high-quality flooring, a flat-screen cable TV, and a large bathroom with hot and cold showers. Public areas have free Wi-Fi. Reception staff can help arrange travel and tours, and airport shuttles are available for an extra charge. The open restaurant overlooks the mountains and serves local, Indian, Chinese, and continental dishes.

The food and snacks are tasty and affordable, and the front desk and restaurant and bar attendants are humble, which made the stay pleasant. It's a nice place for a weekend or summer break, close to nature, with a spot for meditation and some inner peace. When the sky is clear, you can see the Himalayas beautifully. The rooms do get a little damp, especially in the rainy season, and the hotel administration should look into that.

The food was good and the staff responded exceptionally well. They are building an extension, though, and we were greeted in the morning by a generator engine. They could do that just after checkout time, so the construction planning was poor, even if everything else was perfect. The place is worth the price, but it's quite old and needs serious maintenance, especially in the bathrooms. The room TV was just for show, with an expired subscription.

We went there for a wedding reception and the venue was nice, though it could look and feel better with some improvements. The dry patches would benefit from more flowers and greenery, and more outdoor heaters would be useful. There were only two staff members in the dining area when I was there, so staffing should match the number of guests. The food started out good, but its taste declined after a few rounds, and the quality should stay at a high level.

The service was exceptional, and the price felt fair for the stay, so we'd come back. The hotel is tucked behind a hill, which kept highway noise out of our room. It was comfortable, though a bit dated, and there were quiet garden areas outside. We enjoyed seeing different birds from the balcony of room 204. The Indian and Nepali food was good. Friday nights can get a little noisy because that's often the hotel's busiest night. They were building a pool and spa expected to be done in about 7 months, but the construction didn't affect our stay.
