Backyard Hotel

The travel desk made booking sightseeing tours around Kathmandu easy, and everything was well organized. Breakfast was delicious each morning, with plenty of variety and fresh ingredients. My room was comfortable and clean, and the Wi-Fi worked really well. Hotel Backyard is right in the middle of Thamel, close to everything. The whole staff was friendly and helpful, and Sagar Pandey especially went above and beyond. His local knowledge and hospitality stood out. Great value, service, and location, I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

I’m back for a second stay, which says a lot. The price is decent compared with other hotels, breakfast is included, and the staff are kind and friendly. Markets, restaurants, street food at night, and vendors are all nearby. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.

Everything was fine during our three-night stay. The staff were welcoming and super friendly, always smiling. The food at Backyard hotel restaurant was delicious. Thanks to the whole team, and to Mr Sagar Pandey, for making the stay so good.

The room was in awful shape: the door lock didn’t work properly, the bathroom was extremely old, and neither the flush nor the shower fittings worked. What we got was completely different from the room shown online. Check-in was stressful too. Even though I’d already booked and paid through Agoda, the receptionist insisted I pay more on arrival and kept pressuring me to cancel the booking myself. That felt unprofessional. This was one of my worst stays in Thamel. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel based on my experience, and I hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves the service and rooms.
