Being close to the world's largest Buddhist stupa was a real plus, and the place had a lovely courtyard and comfortable rooms. The caring family running this delightful haven in Boudha also gave 30% to charity, while keeping it great value. During my stay, doctors visiting from the UK were treating children with disabilities. Good people all around.

The garden had lots of different fruit trees, and there was also a restaurant and a small conference hall. Internet service was excellent. I stayed at this hotel for around three months with my American friend, who was very happy with Mr.Lama's service. Mr.Lama owns the hotel and was very helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean, and hot water was available around the clock, with a separate gas water heater for every two rooms. It was a very peaceful place.

I keep coming back to this hotel during transit to the Khumbu, and I've stayed here ten times. It's an oasis amid the city's chaos, a short walk from the Stupa, and much better than staying in Thamal. Bisam Lama, the owner, and his family are wonderful. His English is perfect, since he taught school in England. Proceeds also support the orphanage Bisam Lama started. For bottled water at 20 rupees, the chemist just to the hotel's left has it.

The owner and his wife paid attention to us, and the staff were friendly. We had clean towels and bedsheets, a lovely lawn, and good food. The trouble was load shedding: when the power went off, there was no hot water. It's also a bit far from the center, though the place itself felt very homely.

In Kathmandu's Buddhist area, close to Bodnath, this peaceful and lovely place felt just right for a stay in KTM. The kind owners do all they can to make your holiday enjoyable.
