Mila Hotel

The rooftop restaurant is cool, though I haven’t tried the rooms. The hotel is nice, but it’s on a congested street. I wish the menu leaned more toward Nepali cuisine instead of foreign dishes. I think visitors come to try local food, not meals they can regularly get in their own country.

Rooms and floors were clean, breakfast was good, and the people were cooperative. The location is calmer than many boutique hotels in Thamel, while cafes, restaurants, pubs, and malls are all within 100-800m. One thing to know: the main gate is locked after 10:00-11:00 pm. A security guard is there to unlock it with keys whenever you go out or come back in, maybe for security. Iykyk.

A little gem tucked into central Kathmandu. The hotel has good rooms and great service, and the location is ideal: you can walk to the main attractions, including Thamel and Civil Mall, while staying away from the noise. Highly recommend it.

I stayed here on my solo trip in Dec 2025. The rooms were spacious, clean, and neat, and the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. I was fully satisfied with the food. Staff were friendly and helpful, from arranging sightseeing to booking a cab, even in the middle of the night. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from main Thamel Chawk, and about 10 minutes on foot from Kal Bhairav Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. There’s also a rooftop restaurant and cafe with an amazing view of Swambhu Temple. A perfect place to stay in Thamel, Kathmandu.
