OYO 297 Hotel Aayam

It was a quiet area, though the hotel could be a little hard to locate. The rooms were a decent size but needed more cleaning. The bathroom kept smelling of pee, and the old sofa and chairs were very dirty.

I left my charger behind after charging my phone overnight, and I remember the room clearly. Once I checked out, they wouldn't answer my calls until I found their private number. Then they said the charger wasn't there and refused to return it. The sheets were stained and the food was undercooked too. This was frustrating, and OYO should be careful about listing hotels like this.

Don't stay here if you need to check out early and don't know Nepalese, the night caretaker is awful. They also don't have a bucket for bathing, which is a problem especially in winter. And if you need car parking, avoid it, since they would lie about having it.

Kathmandu itself was awesome, but staying here was the most disappointing hotel experience I've had despite traveling all over the world. I booked through Hotel.com and was charged more, so I expected a decent room where I could relax during my visit. Instead, the room had AC but was dirty and messy. Don't trust those photos when booking, or you may regret it.
