I’m from Bangladesh, and I love this place. Samsara boutique hotel is a great place to stay in thamel Kathmandu, with a garden, a family-friendly feel, plenty of space, and a nice breakfast. The shopping area is very close, and the staff are helpful. If you’re visiting Nepal, please stay at Samsara Boutique Hotel for a night.

It’s right in the heart of Thamel, with lots of places to eat, shop, and explore nearby. The rooms are simple but clean, with air conditioning and hot showers. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

I stayed for five nights and found the location ideal for getting around. The staff were attentive, professional, and courteous, and breakfast had a delicious range of choices. Clean, comfortable, well-maintained rooms made it easy to relax and get business work done, as well as spend time with family. Highly recommended for families and business travelers. It felt like a home away from home.

Our first stay at Samsara was such a good experience that we’ll return whenever we’re in Kathmandu. Though it’s tucked into a peaceful corner, the boutique hotel is right in the heart of Thamel, close to the city’s major hubs, and affordable. The family suites and other rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were welcoming, efficient, and friendly. Breakfast is complimentary, with Indian and continental choices, and was better than at nearby hotels. The chef has been there since the hotel opened and makes delicious meals with fresh market ingredients. He can whip up just about anything quickly. Laundry service is fast and efficient, which is really convenient for longer stays. A truly remarkable stay. Thank you, Team Samsara.

The first day was fine, but my stay at Samsara Boutique Hotel turned into one of my worst hotel experiences. We booked two nights based on the website photos, and the room felt completely different when we arrived. We stayed to judge the service, but on the second morning, when we asked about upgrading, we were told no better rooms were available. We decided to check out. After paying, we sat down for coffee, and the manager accused us of having “destroyed” a towel because I’d wiped my lipstick with the face towel. We were willing to pay, but he photographed it and demanded payment rudely. The way he spoke made me feel like absolute trash over a towel. I asked the receptionist to get a manager, and she said that if we couldn’t pay, we should leave, but not to “make a scene” because she’d be scolded later. The manager didn’t come speak to us properly, and we waited half an hour just to talk to him. Guests have every right to say what they didn’t like, but their response ruined my entire day. I’d never recommend the property to anyone. As foreigners, we felt we were treated differently, judged by our appearance, and assumed unable to pay. Hospitality staff should never judge guests. Samsara Boutique Hotel seriously needs to train its staff in guest care, handling criticism, and basic professionalism. The LADY RECEPTIONIST needs to learn how to treat people. The shittiest experience. THE WORST! If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.
