Shangrila Lodge

For the price it was an OK experience, though the dirty bedsheets and bad smell in the bathroom weren’t great. The manager was really annoying, always approaching us to push trekking guides at a “better price” than other people, and even telling us to buy water at the hotel instead of outside. The price speaks for itself, but I wish he hadn’t come over to talk to us every time we passed by.

Rabindra was very welcoming and kind, and even helped us find the hotel at midnight. The lodge is a good budget stay, with friendly staff and a central spot in the middle of themal. Amenities are close by. There’s free Wi-Fi, hot showers, welcome coffee, an attached restaurant serving delicious food, and a quiet, peaceful rooftop sitting area. I Recomand all tourist to visit and stay here. I give 5start for a friendly, budget stay.

The receptionist gave us all the information we needed, and some we didn’t. For the price, it was alright, but being right in the middle of Thamel meant loud music at night. It was hard to sleep, and I’m a hard sleeper. The bathroom smelled, had no toiletpaper, and there was no fan.

The Wi-Fi worked all the time, but the solar lights in the room seemed to do whatever they wanted. You get what you pay for. I have no complaints, though next time I’m in Thamel I’ll probably try another budget hotel.
