Sherpa Homestay

The room was clean, and I liked relaxing at the coffee bar downstairs. I spent several nights at Sherpa home hotel and especially enjoyed the dinners as well as the breakfasts. The soups were all amazing, and we had a variety of food during our stay. The staff were very kind and helpful. A lovely, relaxing place.

We preferred eating at the hotel instead of going out to restaurants. The food was simple, clean and delicious, and they catered to our vegetarian and vegan group. The staff were attentive and accommodating, and called taxis when we needed them. They also gave us directions to tell the driver so they could bring us back, which helped since getting around Kathmandu can be tricky. I enjoyed my stay at Sherpa Home Hotel so much. It’s cute and cozy, with a relaxed, homey feel. I’d stay again and recommend it to others!

Getting around was confusing enough that even taxi drivers called the hotel for directions. I usually took a taxi back, though by the end of my week there I’d learned the way on foot. It took about 30 minutes to walk to Thamel Square with my maps app, and the monkey temple was 15 minutes away. The location is a little out of the way, but not too bad. My room and the hotel were very comfortable. The staff provided excellent service and were helpful, including assisting me with a SIM card and a short-term data plan for my iPhone.

Quiet neighbourhood, about half an hour’s walk from Thamel. The little hotel was beautiful and clean. I stayed twice in different rooms, and one of them was spectacular. Staff were exceedingly friendly and service minded.
