Taleju Boutique Hotel

We ate in the courtyard often because the hotel’s food was as good as, and sometimes better than, the restaurants we tried nearby. The location was hard to beat, with shops, restaurants, and bars just steps away. During our downtime, we had plenty to explore, and many major attractions, including UNESCO locations, museums, and the palace area, were a 10-45 minute walk. We checked into Taleju Hotel five times over three weeks in Kathmandu and couldn’t imagine staying elsewhere. By the third visit the whole staff seemed to know us. The reception team were warm and attentive, always asking about our trip and happy to help with reservations, special requests, or anything else. The daytime manager took a real interest in our comfort, and the daytime front doorman was unfailingly kind, greeting us with a smile and insisting on carrying our bags. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for the heart of Thamel. The beds were firm but comfortable, with different pillow firmness options, and there was always plenty of hot water. Complimentary filtered water in the room was a nice bonus. The staff, rooms, meals, and location made this one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll definitely be back to Taleju on our next visit to Nepal. Highly recommend!

I had a great time at Taleju and would happily return. The staff made the service stand out: I had warm moments with everyone, from the doorman, concierge, receptionist and porter to the waitress, barista, waiter, masseuse, and gardener. Each person was kind, sincere, and helpful. It’s in central Kathmandu on a quiet, safe street at the edge of Thamel, just minutes from Durban square. The room was spacious enough for me, though perhaps cozy for two. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of power outlets, and complimentary filtered water was provided. The shower was perfectly hot, and breakfast was delicious, especially the made-to-order eggs. The massage was convenient, reasonably priced, and just what I needed after a long trek. Laundry service was prompt, high quality, and fairly priced. There’s also comfortable seating and nice views on the rooftop. 5/5, I’d recommend it.

Bishnu and his brother were excellent hosts, and the hotel staff were so warm and friendly that they left a very positive impression on me. The place was extremely clean and tidy, with fresh air. We had breakfast, and the buffet was plentiful and very tasty. I also highly recommend the hotel massage. I felt reborn :) Hotel Taleju is centrally located in Kathmandu, just a few minutes’ walk from Tamel. If you visit Kathmandu, I highly recommend Hotel Talaji :))) Best regards! Antonija Ikanović

The owner’s personal attention made our stay at Taleju Boutique Hotel memorable. He was exceptionally friendly, genuinely caring, and regularly checked that we were comfortable and happy. The hotel has a warm, welcoming feel, with traditional Nepali charm alongside modern comfort. Our room was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated, a nice place to unwind after long days of travel. It felt like more than just a place to stay. We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Nepal and will definitely return on our next trip.
