The rooms are simple, but I loved the shower, and having air conditioning felt like a luxury. Keep the mosquito repellent plugged in and running in your room so you don't get bitten. Tharu community lodge is a peaceful place to unwind in nature. The staff were great, and there was an excellent choice of food.

Our 8 hours safari in Chitwan set off from this great lodge. In the evening, local people surprised us with traditional activities. It's also an impressive project that supports local communities, so I'd recommend booking here if you're visiting Chitwan and want to support that work. Namaste 🙏🏼

I spent three weeks here while volunteering in the park. The staff were kind and always happy to help, and my room was very nice and clean. The food was really good too. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

I came away with great memories, a stronger appreciation for the Tharu community, and a sense that my stay had supported something worthwhile. Tharu Community Lodge brings together cultural experiences, eco-tourism, and social impact, while still being a place to stay. For a visit to Chitwan or Kawasoti, I'd recommend it if you're looking for comfort, adventure, and a connection to local culture.
