This family-run hotel and restaurant was a great find after my trek from Namche. The room was spacious and clean, reasonably priced, and had an excellent hot shower. The food was delicious, the owner made me feel welcome, and the airport is only about a 5-minute walk away. My 6:30 AM flight to Kathmandu was delayed by bad weather the next morning. I had to walk between the hotel and airport several times to check on it because the airport staff and airline counters weren't helpful with updates, which often happens when the weather gets worse. The hotel's location and hospitality made the situation much easier to manage. I highly recommend Lama Hotel.

Lama Hotel had everything I needed after a long workday or trek: a spacious room, warm shower, good food, and friendly owners. The hospitality made me feel at home, and it was a great place to unwind and recharge while passing through Lukla. Highly recommended. Thanks, Lhakpa and Jess.

A little effort is all it would take to keep things clean. The food is okay, but after a long wait it can be cold. And three liters of infusion from one tea bag is still just water.

After a 9-10 day trek, I was looking forward to a good burger. It was a big disappointment: the bun was cold inside and hadn't been cooked through, and the chicken patty was hard and overcooked.

Orders can take a while since the food is made to order in Lukla. For a hot shower, let them know ahead of time so they can switch on the heater. It isn't always on because electricity is scarce here. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the top-floor room has a good view of Lukla and a heated blanket. I liked the coffee and food, especially the egg fried rice, egg drop soup, thukpa, and fried momos. The hot chocolate was good too, not too sweet, so I could finish a whole pot. The service was great.
