Voices from other rooms carry clearly, and with dogs barking, people talking outside, and doors constantly opening and closing, it’s really annoying. I wouldn’t recommend it for light sleepers. The bed was uneven, or maybe broken in the middle, and uncomfortable. The room itself is very basic, with limited amenities and cleanliness.

The staff are easily the friendliest and most helpful bunch I’ve met in a hotel. They’re always cheerful and nothing seems like too much trouble. The hotel is central but tucked off the main road. I’m heading off to see more of the country, but I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Kathmandu.

The room size is good for the price, and breakfast was nice and healthy. The receptionist was polite, so the stay was okay. But the housekeeping needs regular checks and better upkeep. Our towel had a hole, there were two big cockroaches in the room, and the washroom knobs were rusty and poorly maintained. Many travelers mostly need a place to sleep while they explore during the day. If the place were looked after properly, I think plenty would come for a nice, cheap stay.

I spent 15 days here, and it really felt like living at home. The location and interior are cozy and homely, and the staff are very good. Consider it if you want to experience Kathmandu.
