Gate 5 is right nearby, which made it easy to return to the Maya Devi temple during our two-night visit. Since you can only walk inside the complex, being so close was a real help. We came to Lumbini to see Buddha's birthplace and the monasteries. Our room was fine, with working air conditioning. The bathroom was basic but did the job, though the room could use brighter lighting at night. Staff were friendly and helpful, and both the fresh restaurant food and filling breakfast were good. Wi-Fi worked, but was slow. There was construction on an extra floor during our stay, with noise all day and into the evening. Ask about any work underway before booking. If you're flying into Lumbini, I'd also suggest arranging an airport transfer through the hotel.

The hotel was clean and had a garden, and the food was delicious, including the vegetarian options. The restaurant team helped prepare food for monks very early in the morning. The owner was really nice and helpful, arranging everything from meals to a city tour.

The cafe made great coffee, and breakfast had a good range of choices, especially for Chinese tastes. The staff were polite and ready to help, and the place felt welcoming. Maya Devi Temple is quite close. I stayed one night and had a nice experience.

The garden and dining area were charming, and the location, amenities, and helpful staff were all good. They provided what we needed and gave us information about places around Lumbini. Still, an incident at dinner left us disappointed. I ordered Mix Vegetable Curry, but the dish brought out was stir fried vegetables. I hadn't touched it, so I asked the server to replace it. She looked at the dish and insisted it was Mix Vegetable Curry. We gave up and ate it. Later, someone from our group who paid the bill found we'd been charged for STIR FRIED VEGETABLES, not MIX VEGETABLE CURRY. After breakfast the next day, I explained what happened to the manager. He initially brushed it off as a mix-up and suggested that the difference between my spoken Nepali and theirs might have caused it. My Nepali is actually more than good, but I said even if my way of speaking had played a part, I had told the server clearly what I ordered and she still insisted the dish was right. He seemed to have no answer, then asked what I wanted him to do and whether we wanted Mix Vegetable Curry for dinner that night. We didn't get it. He never apologized or reprimanded the server, and seemed to avoid the issue while blaming us. We'd spent quite a long time touring Sauraha, Patihani, and finally Lumbini, and had no trouble communicating with people in those places. The whole thing was a letdown.

We were close to the Buddha birthplace, just a short walk from the gate, and the bus station was around the corner. The hotel's garden, with its different statues, was lovely, and the room was comfortable. Their restaurant was the best in Lumbini for us, especially for espresso. The service really stood out. Everyone was kind and friendly, helped us book Chitwan bus tickets ahead of time, carried our luggage to the bus stop, and even packed breakfast for our early departure. Highly recommend it.
