Tathāgata Homestay

The rooms were clean, and the housekeeping woman was very sweet. It's close to the maya devi garden, yet still quiet and surrounded by nature. You can use the kitchen and fridge, which makes it suitable for a longer stay. The price is absolutely fine.

The manager/owner was available on WhatsApp even before I checked in. My room was on the ground floor beside reception and the kitchen, but the house wasn't busy then, so it wasn't much of an issue. I slept very comfortably, with a big, good mattress, a sturdy desk, a perfect shower, free toiletries, and filtered water. I definitely recommend it to fellow travelers. The woman who looks after the place doesn't speak English, but she finds a way to communicate. She's such a lovely person. I'll miss you, Ms Umakali!! ♥️

It's quiet and reasonably good value, out on the edge of town. The shared bathroom has hot water all day and night, and the WiFi is stable. Restaurants and shops are in the town center, about a 5-10 minute walk away. The lady manager speaks no English, though, so expect a few amusing misunderstandings!

The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and the homestay is in a peaceful area with buildings spread out. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the bus stop and main street. Not every room has air conditioning, so check when booking or upgrade if you need it. The sister who looked after me was very caring. She kept checking that I had enough cold water, with bottles refilled and stocked in the fridge, and walked with me to the bus stop the morning I left. She doesn't speak much English, and I don't speak Nepali, but her friend can help us communicate if needed.
