Hotel Country Villa

The owner’s kindness made us feel at home during our short visit. We also enjoyed the food, especially having meals with such a beautiful view. Country Villa Hotel, Nagarkot, Nepal is surrounded by peaceful scenery and breathtaking views, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. A memorable stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, views, and warm hospitality in Nagarkot.

The pumpkin soup was the standout, really delicious, though the food portions were small. We went for a daycation and found the service friendly and very good. There’s a buffet option if you want it. The bathroom was clean, and the pool area is nice but small, with a bigger sitting area. You can play table tennis too. Go on a clear day if you can, the view in Nagarkot is incredible.

The heater was on, but I was still very unhappy with the stay. We were traveling as a group, and I understand our tour leader and guide didn’t know the actual room sizes when they assigned rooms based on the hotel’s single, twin, or double categories. A few of us ended up in section 401-405. Compared with the rooms in the 2xx and 3xx sections, the difference was significant. Rooms 401-404 are very small, old twin rooms with nowhere to sit. Opening a suitcase takes up almost the whole room. Room 405 is only a little bigger, and its bathroom has an outside window that makes it extremely cold even though the window is closed. The shower had warm water, but no hot water. With such a big difference between room types, I think the hotel should tell the travel agency and try to give people in the same tour group rooms that are the same or similar.

The sauna and jacuzzi were great, and the food was delicious. Desserts could use a little improvement, though. Staying in the Dome House was better than I expected, with a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and a stunning view. It’s a lovely getaway, and I hope to visit again soon.
