This was my third visit to Upper Deck by the diamond palace. The food is generally decent, but I find it a bit overpriced for the service. The Keema Noodles were particularly disappointing. They tasted more like instant noodles with regular masala seasoning than a properly prepared signature dish. The restaurant has potential, but the hospitality has been missing on all three visits. A warm welcome and attentive service make a big difference, and even loyal customers can only wait so long before wondering if their order has been forgotten. Better consistency and customer service would help make the prices feel justified and bring people back.

It’s 2:00 AM and I still can’t sleep because of the excessive noise. The hotel has failed to give guests a peaceful place to rest, which is a basic expectation. Extremely disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here even if it were free.

Both Tribhuwan chowk and Dhamboji are about the same distance from the hotel along the road. Dhamboji is easy to walk to, and Tribhuwan chowk is walkable too if your legs are up for it and you don’t have a rheumatic problem. :D Parking is ample. The rooms are cozy, though a bit small, and the thick, comfortable mattress made for good sleep. The bathroom was consistently clean and well maintained, with the necessary amenities and cosmetics. Food quality was good, especially a chicken dish whose name I can’t quite remember. It’s one of the prominent hotels in the city and is currently managed by an Indian hotel chain.

The breakfast was a letdown, with very little choice and poor quality food. There are no EV charging outlets either. Even after the renovation, the hotel still seems outdated, with wear and tear visible around the property.

My room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. From check-in, laxmi and saurav made me feel welcome, and the front office team took care of everything with a friendly, professional attitude. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone after a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
