The rooms are okay, and the hotel is about average. Getting public transport in almost any direction is easy at nearly any time, except late at night. The restaurant doesn’t seem very popular.

The rooms are spacious, the location is good, and the toiletries provided included a brush, shampoo, and soap. The food was tasty. But good rooms aren’t enough if service and hospitality are poor, and that’s where this place falls badly short. The staff seemed untrained from the moment we reached reception. Waiters didn’t write down orders and made repeated mistakes. The restaurant was very noisy, with loud music and waiters shouting, while kitchen staff also spoke loudly enough for customers to hear. Staff didn’t know where the iron was, when checkout was, or whether a reservation had even been made. At checkout, guests were treated like thieves, the sort of attitude associated with traditional hotel owners. If service doesn’t matter to you, you may like it for the rooms and location. But people choose hotels for how they’re treated, not just for big rooms. I hope the owners address these problems if they want the hotel to stay competitive.

The chicken momos and Nepali khana set were okay, though the wait took a little longer than expected. The staff were really friendly and gladly refilled our plates for the khana set. It was clean, and the big sofa-like seats were very comfortable.

The food was good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were just okay, but the hotel is easy to reach beside the highway, and the attractions are all within walking distance. Do visit if you're ever in Nepalgunj.
