Hotel Murano

We arrived later in the day, but check-in was quick and smooth. Good hotel, with professional staff.

The housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything tidy, and the service was exceptional. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though the furnishings seemed a little dated and some amenities could be upgraded. Hotel Murano has a good location and strong hospitality, so it’s a solid option if those matter more than having luxurious rooms.

On December 27, while traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, I called to ask about a room. A staff member said a couple were available and suggested we look before paying a deposit. When we arrived, that person, whose name I can’t remember, was missing. There were other foreign guests there who seemed to be getting excellent treatment, almost like royalty, while nobody acknowledged or helped us. After a long wait, someone showed us a room with three beds and said nothing the whole time. We felt unwelcome and left to stay somewhere else. Everyone deserves equal, respectful service, whether local or foreign.

The terrace on the roof has a great view, and the location is excellent, right in the city center but still quiet. The staff were incredibly kind and polite. I’d read older reviews saying they were unfriendly, but as of 09/24, they were the best staff I’ve encountered. Every request was handled with a smile. Cleanliness was just okay, the sheets and towels were so-so, and breakfast was only okay too. Still, the service was lovely, and I’ll come back for sure.
