Hotel The Lake by OYO Rooms

I stayed here with my family before and after trekking at the end of March, and we all loved the atmosphere. The owner is friendly, and they’ll bring hot drinking water to your room if you ask, with no extra charge. Trekkers can also leave luggage here for free. From the rooftop you can see the Annapurna ranges when the weather is calm. Phewa Lake and Bashundhara Park are about a five-minute walk away, and the Tourist Bus Park takes around ten minutes on foot. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and very clean, with hot water available around the clock. Fresh food is served at reasonable prices compared with nearby restaurants, and the masala milk tea was outstanding. It’s a very budget-friendly, family-friendly hotel.

The staff were really nice to deal with, and the peaceful, friendly setting made this one of my favorite hotels in Lakeside. My bike or car and other belongings felt secure with the CCTV around the property. I’d give the rooms, service, and location 5/5. It has a luxury highlight too. 🙏2

The location is the main thing this place has going for it. The towels and bathroom were dirty, with visible stains on both, and using the towel felt unpleasant. When we got back around 1:30 at night, the gate was shut. We called several times and nobody answered. I’ve usually found hotels keep the gate open, but not this one. I didn’t raise it at first. I paid the full amount, then explained we’d had to book somewhere else just to stay. The owner responded as if I’d come looking for a fight, even though I was being polite. He asked why I hadn’t called on a mobile, why I hadn’t told them I was going out, and suggested one guest didn’t represent our behavior. Who reasonably tells hotel owners every move they make? Guests should be told about this expectation. Instead, he threatened to review me on booking.com. The location is good, but the owner needs to learn how to handle complaints and speak to guests. Please clean the stains. About the misleading reply: how can you claim the towel was from another hotel? You can check the tiles. I know when and where I took the photo. It’s not easy to lie in the digital world, and that’s a clear pile of lies. Be honest with yourself and your business. And about your claim that I threatened your women receptionist, do you have the nerve to release the evidence? When did you even reach out to us? Do you have the nerve to share that too? I have it on recording.

The owner was rude, and the woman who owns the hotel took our suitcase without asking us. The service left me really disappointed. Their milk tea tasted great, but it was very expensive. The TV, Wi-Fi router, and charging plug didn’t work, and the lighting was very dim.
