New Summit Guest House

Raj was always around to answer questions and suggest places to see, and the whole guest house had a calm, kind feel to it. He and his wife welcomed me warmly, then served a lovely breakfast in their garden, where I counted at least 10 kinds of flowers. My room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had hot water. I really enjoyed staying at New Summit Guest House.

We had a great time and would come back. The hosts were so sweet, and it was lovely spending time with them. They were also a big help with tours and getting around Pokhara. Our room and the shared areas were clean, all the amenities worked, and the breakfast they prepared was plentiful and inexpensive.

Raj is a good-hearted, humble host, and we had many good laughs talking with him. He also gave us ideas for seeing pokhara on a budget, and his family were wonderful. When we asked about food poisoning, he immediately called his son, a medical officer at nearby Green Pastures Hospital, so we could be seen. Dr Paul gave us holistic treatment. We chose a room on the 3rd floor with its own verandah. It was clean, comfortable and private, with an open view of the hills and sky, without rooftops blocking it. The guest house is also a short walk from a nearby park that shares its grounds with a renowned Shiva and Hanuman temple. It’s rare to find hospitality that feels like a fair exchange of value.
