Rising Moon Guest House

The room wasn’t up to standard, and it wasn’t clean. Sometimes the shower and sink had no hot water, and other times the water was so hot it burned my skin. Susma, the caretaker, had a very bad attitude and spoke to guests rudely. There are good hotels in the same lane, so look elsewhere.

We got a four-person room for 1000 Nepali. The owner quoted 800 Nepali per person for the tourist bus, though the actual fare is 400 per person. We booked through nearby Unique Nepal Sightseeing, just 20 meters away, and got a fair price: 2000 Nepali for four people.

The bus ticket price we found was 400 Nepalese rupees per passenger, but the owner charged us 800 each. For two people, I paid Rs 1600 when the total should have been Rs 800. They speak sweetly while cheating you, so be careful before staying here. Nearby hotels are quite good, and the hotel's online price is more than double. I won't recommend staying here because I feel the owner scammed me.

The Himalayan view was what made my stay at Hotel Rising Moon feel so special. I woke up to those peaks every morning, and the calm and beauty were hard to describe. The owner and staff were genuinely warm and treated me like family. They also knew the area and could arrange tickets for Sarangkot and trekking trips, which helped with planning time in Pokhara. After a day out, the cozy, well-equipped room was a comfortable place to rest. The on-site restaurant served tasty local and international food, with the mountains as a backdrop. Hotel Rising Moon brings together lovely views, kind hospitality, and practical help for outdoor adventures. I’d recommend it as a home away from home in Pokhara.
