The organic food was full of flavor and incredibly delicious. Thanks to the owner, Mohan Aryal, and the staff for such lovely service. Our stay in Bardiya was memorable, with clean, beautiful rooms, a peaceful setting, and a lovely garden at Forest Hideaway Resort.

A really pleasant, quiet place. The manager was very helpful, and there are several different safaris on offer.

I booked a four-day package at FHR and liked it so much that I stayed another three days. My upstairs room had a nice balcony and was comfortable, and the meals were decent. The staff were excellent, and the lodge was great value for money, so I happily recommend it. The foot and jeep safaris turned up an amazing range of wildlife: a tiger, elephant, rhino, otters, hundreds of deer across five species, monkeys, lizards, crocodiles, and around 60 kinds of birds.

The nature guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and that's the only reason I'd recommend staying here. After the jeep and walking safaris, there are plenty of other small, lovely guesthouses that are better for relaxing and exploring the village. The garden here is quite nice. The hotel is large, and while we were there it felt empty in the restaurant because we were the only guests. It might suit big groups of tourists better than solo travelers, couples, or families. The food was simply horrible. Our deluxe room was practical, but not cozy, and smelled strongly of damp. Be careful with the expensive safari package they offer. It may cost less to choose activities one day at a time and negotiate the price. The owner couldn't give us a breakdown of the package and seemed to have inflated all the prices, including the room price we'd booked on booking!
