We were in a campervan for one night and absolutely loved the place. Campgrounds in NZ haven’t been great for us so far, but this one really changed that. The site was clean and cosy, with trees and bushes, and the staff were super friendly. The new toilets and showers were comfortable, warm, clean, and didn’t need coins. We didn’t see the rooms, so can’t comment on those.

The campground is really well laid out, with good-sized sites, plenty of shade when you want it, and clean, tidy facilities. The common area is lovely, with lots of wood features and attractive decor. It’s a great campground, though for a TOP10 I expected a couple more standard things: a shuttle to and from Kaitaia and a pool.

We had five awesome days here. The sites are big enough for a caravan, tent, and ute, and we loved being able to bring our dog. 90mile beach is a nice walk or a short drive away. The toilet and kitchen block near our powered site was super modern and clean. 10/10, recommend!

We tried camping with the kids for the first time at a tent site here. The staff were friendly and the service was great, with a family-friendly feel. The bathrooms were clean, and the shared kitchen had a good setup with plenty of tables. We’ll definitely come back.
