The food is what brought this up to a 4 for me, since the accommodation itself is pretty basic. There are great hikes nearby, and the drive from Christchurch is a good South Island trip.

A handy spot for tracking, but the facilities weren't that great. Breakfast was free, though it was basic and there was nothing cooked. It's just a simple place to stay, nothing fancy.
