We've stayed at Harbour View Cottage twice, once after coming back from overseas and again for a family reunion, and we'd happily return. It's a charming, quiet, clean little place, reasonably priced, and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful. The huge Factory shopping complex is within walking distance, and it's a lovely spot for even a one-night hideaway.

The apartment was nice and in a good location. The host was accommodating, and communication was good.

The salt hot pool we saw advertised wasn't available, as the family uses it for their children in summer. They shouldn't advertise facilities they can't provide. We also left with bites all over us, though I'm not sure if they were bed bugs. Not pleasant at all. There was little privacy during the stay, and communication with the owner was very poor. The owner blamed the website and charged extra. For what it costs, this was an average stay and felt overrated. The owner needs to manage the accommodation much better. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

Such a cute little cottage, and honestly the cleanest of the six or so places I stayed in over a month on the North Island. The hosts were very welcoming and respectful. I'll recommend it to friends!

The room had no toilet paper, the washing machine didn't work, and this isn't a bed and breakfast. We only got a couple of tea bags and a very small milk in the fridge. The place was dirty, and the owners live right beside and in front of you, so there was no peace or quiet. They were very rude. We won't stay there again. This was my wife's second visit, booked under her name, and this is the first review we've ever written. We never got the promised 10% off for a second stay. They cancel most online bookings because they want to charge double over the phone, and it's hard to get your money back if you book online. They overcharged us, then wanted cash for our small dog sleeping outside and for parking inside the property. Those cash charges hadn't been mentioned on the phone. They charged over $300 a night for two people, plus the extra cash, and still wanted more. Do yourself a big favor and go elsewhere. James & Adele
