The harbour view from our room was lovely, and the room felt bright and had good ventilation. Staff were attentive, friendly, and ready to help with anything. I absolutely loved staying at the Avani metropolis. It’s one of the nicest hotels in Auckland, with great views in nearly every direction. I’d recommend it to a friend and would happily return.

The location is hard to beat, right by central Auckland and within an easy walk of transit and restaurants. I stayed twice in March, and both check-ins and check-outs went smoothly. Front desk staff were also happy to hold my luggage while I explored the city. The rooms are nicely furnished with good city views, and having laundry facilities in the unit was a real bonus. I especially appreciated the little detergent pack and carton of milk in each room. Friendly, accommodating staff and a very convenient stay.

After looking at more than 30 hotels nearby, we chose this one because we wanted a pool and a bathroom with a door and privacy for the toilet. We were pleasantly surprised by the room and would book again. We arrived around 6:30 in the morning after about 17 hours of flying, and the friendly front desk staff let us straight into our room. It was such a relief to rest for a few minutes. The harbour-facing balcony is beyond the bed and built-in wardrobe. Before that, there’s a living area with a couch, TV, small table, and two chairs. The enclosed bathroom is on the right as you enter, with the laundry machines and kitchenette on the left. The kitchenette has a coffee machine, cups, plates, cutlery, a mini stovetop, and a mini fridge, with coffee and milk provided. The hotel also supplies laundry powder, dishwashing liquid, and dishwasher powder.

We found the staff really friendly and helpful, especially when they arranged the Super Shuttle to the airport for us. The room had a well-equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer. It’s also an easy walk to the train station, cafes, and waterfront. Highly recommend.
