The 360-degree city view is the highlight, and the see-through floor sections are a real thrill. Staff were super friendly and handled the large crowds moving up and down the tower very efficiently. It’s reasonably priced compared with other towers, though if you’ve visited similar attractions elsewhere, this one may not stand out. I found the architecture, inside and out, a bit boring, even if the view might stay with you. If heights aren’t your thing, skip it. There are several decks, and one may sometimes be closed, so check before buying. The experience is pretty similar from each deck, so a closure isn’t a huge deal. You don’t need a reservation. Buying tickets at the self-service kiosks was easy, and it’s simple to visit on a whim.

We had expertly made lattes and the best ice cream at the cafe, for less than elsewhere in the city. The main two levels have great views, and the attraction is excellent and well worth the price. Well done to everyone.
The staff were friendly, and you can stay as long as you like. They take you to the first observation level, then you can head to the highest one when you’re ready. From there, you can watch people doing the walk or jumping off. Afterward they drop you at the bar area, and you can walk back down to the first level. We paid an extra NZ$15 for a second visit, which was a good way to see it in daylight and then again at sunset as the lights came on.
On a clear day the panoramic 360° view is stunning, taking in Auckland’s skyline, harbour and surrounding landscapes. The glass floor sections add a fun thrill, and the staff were friendly, with everything well organised. It can get crowded at peak times, and tickets are a little expensive, but I still think it’s worth visiting at least once. I’d recommend going around sunset for the best views. A must-do if you’re in Auckland.
From the ground up, Auckland Skytower makes for a grand visit. Helpful staff make the ticket process and high-speed lifts feel seamless, and the glass floors in the lifts give you a dizzying preview of the views. At the top, you get sweeping panoramas of the city and harbour on a clear day. There are several levels, with an outside SkyWalk for the daring and the SkyJump for people after a base jump. A cafe, bar and revolving restaurant make it easy to spend an afternoon or evening there. I went during the day, though the city lights at night must be just as striking. The visit pass is good value for this iconic Auckland attraction. Highly recommended, it’s a highlight for visitors.
