We had to check in very late after leaving the Kaiteriteri campground because heavy rain was on the way. The new owners made that possible by leaving our unit door open for our arrival. The room was very spacious, with a particularly good bedroom at the back, and our children appreciated the fresh beds. There were new carpets and a fresh paint smell. The Sundowner Motel turned out to be a great find.

The supermarket directly across the road was the biggest plus. Booking was easy, and I stayed three nights, but the rooms needed a proper clean. Tea and toilet supplies weren’t replenished, and the pool area hadn’t been cleaned. There’s no hood or vent over the cooking area, so cooking makes the whole room smell. The fan was noisy and there’s no air conditioning. It’s okay for a short stay.
