Hotel d'Urville

The hotel has lots of charm, and we loved spending evenings in its bar. There was complimentary port too, a nice touch. Each room seems individually designed and is very spacious, and they’ve done a great job adapting such an old building, though there’s no elevator. Parking is available but can fill quickly, and street parking is hard to find and all paid. The area felt like central Blenheim, but it was almost dead when we arrived. It was livelier the next day, so perhaps we were just unlucky. Even so, Blenheim didn’t seem like somewhere to spend a vacation. We loved the hotel itself.

I’m usually a fan of chain hotels, so I was a little wary when my wife booked this boutique place. Turns out I was wrong. The rooms were quirky, clean, and generous in size, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great location too. I’d happily stay again.

The restaurant, Tiger eats meat, was great and everyone enjoyed their meals. There are two bars in the hotel, and the location is great. The rooms are beautiful. No elevator, but there aren’t too many stairs. The restaurant staff were lovely and helpful with food suggestions, and the Blenheim lady cocktail was a favourite. The bartender knows what he’s doing.
