Our ferry was changed at short notice, so we were lucky to find Lorraine and Paul’s lovely B&B. They were so hospitable and accommodating, and Lorraine even packed a generous breakfast the night before for our early ferry. We appreciated that so much. We felt at home and would happily recommend a stay here.

The breakfast at this B&B was the best we've ever had: fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, toast, homemade muffins, plenty of spreads, and superb coffee. Our double room had its own bathroom and was comfortable and clean throughout. Lorraine and Paul were warm, friendly, and helpful, with plenty of local knowledge. We came from Christchurch for the Saint Clair Half Marathon, and Lorraine and Paul made the weekend feel like a real experience. They picked up our race packs, booked a table at a local restaurant before it filled up, drove us to Saint Clair on race day and collected us afterward, then took us into town for dinner. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. They’re an affable couple with great local knowledge and stories. The place itself was comfortable, spacious and warm. We had a double room and a twin room with a shared bathroom, which worked well for us. There was plenty of wardrobe space, plus towels, robes, chocolate, water, and tea and coffee facilities. They also put out light refreshments when we spent time downstairs. Breakfast had a good continental selection and set us up well for the day. It’s a quiet spot a few minutes’ drive from town and close to the wineries, especially Rock Ferry, one of my favourites. Being a little out of town meant a peaceful night’s sleep without people passing the window in the early hours. A perfect B&B, with hosts who clearly love what they do. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
