Earthstead Villas

The older couple running it were lovely. The room I had was a little different for me, old-style but new, and the heated bathroom tiles were a nice touch. My work colleague had another room that was brand new with a super king bed.

The Earth House was amazing. They built everything there, and it's elegant and comfortable, a lovely mix of sustainability and style. It inspired me, and I dream of seeing more places like it someday. My only regret is that I didn't get to spend more time with our host.

The Cottage was beautifully put together, clean and tidy, and felt like a work of art. We stayed at the Cobb Cottage on our wedding night and were welcomed with candlelight, a good bottle of bubbles, generous chocolate desserts, and fresh-baked bread. The house and grounds are arranged so you get plenty of privacy. In the morning, there was a fresh loaf and hot tea on the outside table. The fridge had various drinks and all the ingredients, plus a recipe, for a fantastic smoothie. We enjoyed it on the sunny deck, where it was easy to relax all day. We'd recommend it to anyone and only wish we'd booked a longer stay. Looking forward to going back one day!

We stayed one night in the french room while passing between coromandel and Hamilton. The room was very comfortable, and we woke to the most beautiful birdsong. It was so serene that I wished we'd stayed longer than just the overnight stop. Alistair the owner was kind and helpful with recommendations. I'd stay again if I'm in the area.
