The bar and restaurant are only about 50 metres away, which was a nice bonus after a day on the road. I’ve been crossing New Zealand by bike and staying in lots of places, so I know five stars might look a bit dodgy, but this is the best stop on my trip so far. The room was spacious, with a bathroom, kitchen and living area, and the bed was clean and comfy. For the price, it’s a really good deal. The staff were friendly and quick, and I’ll keep stopping here whenever I pass through.

The Woodbourne Tavern team did a great job taking care of our gluten-free needs, and we were really impressed. We stayed in a very comfortable two-bedroom unit for a couple of nights while celebrating an 80th birthday in the private bar. I’d happily stay again. Ten-star rating... big thanks to the team 💕

The parking spot itself is pretty standard, but it was lovely and quiet. We stayed two nights in our campervan while doing a wine tasting tour, and really appreciated the owner letting us stay for free and use the bathroom. Everyone was kind and helpful. They also serve great food and beer. We loved our stay.

The portions were huge, and the landlord kept all the kids entertained. We had dinner here with friends and family, and the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend, and we’ll be back soon!
