Larry, the office cat, is fabulous, and we love spending time here. Our group of Playcentre Mums has booked the Rob Waddell Lodge for three years now. We cook great food in the brilliant kitchen, enjoy treats from the cafe, swim in the lake, and walk the paths. It's a beautiful place, and the facilities suit our group perfectly.

Built around a hydroelectric dam, Lake Karapiro is truly impressive. Mighty River Domain is a great campground, with water sports facilities that draw lots of families to this special setting. Well worth visiting.

I hope they keep the Beach Volleyball courts. There are rumors they might tear them down. It's such a lovely spot by the water, and there's a nice Cafe nearby too.

We camped here over New Year's. It wasn't very busy, and the campers were well behaved. Maybe the damp weather helped. The facilities were kept clean.

The lake views are lovely, and both the rooms and chateaus were clean, neat, and in great condition. The mattresses had plenty of spring and were quite comfortable. My one concern was the top bunk, which seemed hazardous without any kind of railing. Still, I'd recommend the place.
