Villa Shakespeare

We've been here twice now, and I could happily stay for good. The place is very clean, tidy, and comfortable, with plenty of off-street parking. The price feels outstanding compared with a motel. The owners don't live onsite, but she is nearby if you need her. We also noticed another room being converted in the main house, so it looks like the layout may grow to four rooms plus the cottage. It's a quiet spot set back from the road on a small hill. Cambridge is about five minutes away, with lots of cafes and restaurants, and Hamilton is 15-20 minutes away. There's a laundromat and more shops and food places two minutes up the road, an easy walk if you feel like it. It's an old villa, most of which has been made into a BnB. The main house has three good-sized rooms, each with its own ensuite. We stayed in the front room, which had a queen bed, and didn't see inside the other two. There's also a separate small cottage with its own facilities. It has a queen bed in the bedroom, a bed settee in the lounge, and cooking facilities, though no hot plate. Breakfast is served in its own little building, with a good range of continental food. There's a microwave and hot plate if you want to cook something, but you bring your own food for that. We stayed for 11 days and were very happy here.

We only booked one night and wished we'd stayed longer. The rooms were very comfortable for two adults and our two little kids on the sofa bed, and there was a nice yard for them to play in. The kitchen room setup was delightful. April and her parents made us feel welcome and were really helpful. Such a gem of a place.

My wife and I stayed one night in a spacious, spotless room with a heater, fan, and cable TV. The bathroom and toilet were neat, with high-end toiletries provided. The rooms are named for Shakespeare plays, and the property sits in a quiet area. Ms Hilary and her daughter own it, and Ms Hilary was so friendly and welcoming. There's also a fully equipped, well-stocked kitchen at the back for breakfast. A great place to stay.
