My husband and I stayed at Gothic Heights Motel during our November visit to Christchurch. We could walk to the botanical gardens and some good restaurants, and driving downtown was easy. Our room was spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. My husband also used the laundry facilities to get all his washing done for the rest of our trip, and the bathroom’s hot air fan was useful for drying clothes. I left a few things behind and only realised when we were already hours away. After I emailed, someone at the motel kindly mailed them to another place we were due to stay at and contacted that hotel to make sure they’d hold the items. I’m so grateful for the extra effort. We’ll definitely return, and I highly recommend the motel to anyone visiting Christchurch.

Parking was really convenient, and it was easy to find the place. It was affordable and felt safe, with washing facilities available. The shower felt dated, with what looked like a metal base, so the place needs updating. We didn’t hear road noise, though that might have been because of where our room was.

I've come from Westport and stayed here twice now. It's an easy walk to the hospital, and parking is easy too. Leo, the owner, and his wife are really friendly. Nice room and good service. I'll come back next time. I recommend it five stars.

The owners were courteous and really understanding when a change in our family hospital situation meant we had to alter the length of our stay. The rooms were very clean, with top quality services and lovely decor, and the price was very economical for a central location. Hagley park is a beautiful 10 minute walk from the motel to the hospital. I’d definitely endorse this motel, especially for a stay near Christchurch hospital. Thanks for a very positive booking experience.

The motel is set toward Hagley Park, and the surrounding buildings seemed to block noise from Moorhouse Rd. We’d seen comments about traffic, but didn’t hear any at all. The location was perfect, and for the room we had the price was really good. Check-in and checkout were simple, the room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. I’d absolutely stay again.
