South Brighton Holiday Park

The staff really came through when a big group of us got caught in terrible weather. They went above and beyond to help us out. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped and looked after, and the stay was fantastic value for money. Great facilities and service, and a big thank you to everyone who put in so much effort. It made our trip.

After travelling all around NZ, this is the place that has stayed in my heart the most. It's peaceful but still close enough to the city, right by an estuary with beautiful walks. The amenities are fabulous and always super clean. The staff and long term crew are so kind and welcoming, especially jourdie, the lovely office lady. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, this is the place.

The highlight for me was the wonderful woman at reception. If you ever see this, I'm sorry I didn't ask your name, and thank you so much. Keep being cool 😊 We had a small self-contained cabin with aircon. The bathroom was swarming with mozzies, so I'm glad we brought flyspray. It was otherwise a nice, quiet spot within walking distance of the beach, and good value for money all things considered.

The campsite was clean and functional, and the staff were brilliant, kind, and helpful. Someone came in during the night and took my bag of food from the fridge, which was a shock. The receptionist was mortified, checked the cameras, and said it apparently was someone from outside the campsite. They apologised and said they might get a lock for the fridge. I appreciated how sorry and apologetic they were, and they did all they could, but still, finding my food gone was upsetting. 💔
